Finding Compatibility in Your Materials

As Cupid draws his bow, we’ll be talking about compatibility and finding the perfect (art materials) match. Below, we've highlighted Golden acrylic mediums and colors that yearn to be together. Try out these simple and easy techniques and discover your new favorite power couple.

GAC 100 and QoR Create subtle relief drawings with GAC 100 and finish them with a luminous QoR Watercolor wash. Use a fine-line applicator to draw your pattern with GAC 100. Once dry, apply a watercolor wash over the surface, then gently wipe away the excessrevealing the design as the raised areas resist the color.

Gels and Fluorescent and Phosphorescent Colors Mix Fluorescent and Phosphorescent colors into GOLDEN Textured Gels to create surfaces that feel alivethink bioluminescence. Under black light, the colors ignite. Add Phosphorescent Green and the glow keeps going, staying charged and visible even after the light is gone.

Tinted Light Molding Paste with QoR Interference Wash Build wild, sculptural texture by tinting Light Molding Paste with Fluid Carbon Black. Once its dry, flood the surface with a wash of QoR Interference Colors for added depth and a color-shifting shimmer that moves with the light.

QoR Color Wash Over Micaceous Iron Oxide Prep your surface with Micaceous Iron Oxide for a dark, shimmery, textured base. Once it's dry, paint over it with QoR Watercolors for a fun, unexpected alternative to traditional watercolor paper.

QoR Color Wash Over SoFlat Colors Start with SoFlat for a matte, semi-toothy surface, then layer QoR watercolor over the top for a look that's anything but ordinary. Go classic with SoFlat White, or push it further with a color if you feel adventurous.
