Description
Semi-sheer yet very strong, this interesting lokta based paper features chunky natural lokta strands accented with subtle inclusions of colored hemp fibers in orange, green and purple. Its deckle edges on all four sides makes this paper an interesting piece of art framed just as it is, or try it in art and craft applications such as mixed media, book making, invitations, lamp shades, window treatments, and more. Loka paper is an eco-friendly tree-free paper, derived from the lokta bush, also called the daphne bush. Growing around 6-9,000 feet up in the Himalayan region of Nepal, this bush completely regenerates in about 4 years, after being cut down to about 6? from the ground. Lokta papermaking provides a reliable revenue stream for the village artisans of Nepals rural and urban areas.
